Now on to the market! This one is in a neighborhood named Proctor, which is described on Wikipedia as an "urban village". It's quite charming.
This market, in our opinion, has the best selection of local farm offerings around. More food and less crafts, not that I have anything against crafts, but I want a farmers' market with foooooodddddddd!
There are a few vendors that offer breakfast and lunch goodies too. Everything we've tried has been fantastic, and this trip we tried the tamale stand. Oh my, oh my!
There are some wonderful shops surrounding the market and this is one of our favorites. All the goods sold here come from our region. Dangerous I tell you!
Our allotted market budget was well spent and we finished with treasure that included Swiss chard, green beans, peaches, beets, and summer squash. Should be a tasty week! Notice that charming fellow in the background who offered to carry the bags. He was a bonus!
