An Old Question

...marry me, that is! It's an old question in history and an old question for us - 25 years old to be exact. On this rainy November day, we are remembering the day my husband asked me to marry him. Well, technically he said, "So, when do you want to get married?" - Ha!!! He's often lamented the fact that he didn't do the more romantic style of asking, but the truth is that his question got my young heart skipping to a very happy beat. I was surprised and thrilled and even more in love at that moment - so I'd say the way he put that age old question was just fine! And in case you wonder, he does indeed have a few romantic bones in his body.

These 25 roses came floating into the bedroom this morning, at 5:30 am no less! He not only remembered the anniversary, but also the fact that it was 25 years ago, and he stopped yesterday to buy the flowers, hid them in the garage over night, and surprised me before he left for work today. Pretty commendable I'd say! I will add that he also remembered that I like a variety of colors in roses rather than all red, and there is even one lone pink bud in there, which I think is a nod to our lovely girl. So on this damp and gloomy day, I have the pleasure of looking at these gorgeous flowers, and the blessing of knowing that Lord willing, a man I've loved for more than 25 years will be coming home to me again tonight. I'm a thankful woman.
