Happy Thanksgiving!

Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.
Henry Alford-1844
Happy Thanksgiving from Iowa! Our dear daughter and my brother and his wife are on their way to our home even now. More family is on the way to Iowa to help celebrate my grandmother's 100th Thanksgiving - wow!! We're taking the turkeys, stuffing, and gravy, so there's a lot of cooking going on around here. It's a perfect Thanksgiving in the making. It's such a privilege to stop and purposely gather together to offer thanks on this lovely holiday, but truly, God is so good to us each and every day, that we offer prayers of thanks very naturally and hope that you do too.

One more thing to share with you at this troubling time in history for our nation, is this Thanksgiving Proclamation by George Washington on October 3, 1789 . I hope that it reminds you of what our country's foundation is all about and who these men were that founded it. May we all look to our Heavenly Father this year, who has always blessed this nation, and who will continue to be our source of hope if we trust in Him.

To all our dear family and dear friends who will not be here this year, we love you so much and pray for you at all times. May God bless you and keep you.
